An annual shopping extravasganza, Christmas in July draws
an estimated 20,000 people each year. Offering handmade arts
and craft items (many with Christmas themes) by over 175 artisans,
the event also includes a rummage sale, bake sale, food
court raffle, kid's activity area and live entertainment.
The event dates back to 1977, when the parents and staff of Old Mission
Montessori School organized a jams and jellies sale, and has developed into
the school's major fundraiser, providing $60,000-80,000 per year to supplement tuition at Mission San Luis Rey Parish's
parochial school.
This year's fair dates are Saturday, July 14th, and Sunday, July 15th, 2012. The fair hours for the public are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. and will once again be held under the trees on the beautiful grounds of the historic Mission San Luis Rey Parish.
