THE HISTORY OF CHRISTMAS IN JULY

An annual shopping extravaganza, Christmas in July draws thousands of people each year. Offering handmade arts and craft items (many with Christmas themes) by over 150 artisans, the event also includes a rummage sale, bake sale, food court raffle, kid’s activity area and live entertainment.

The event dates back to 1977, when the parents and staff of Old Mission Montessori School organized a jams and jellies sale, and has developed into the school’s major fundraiser, providing $60,000-80,000 per year to supplement tuition at Mission San Luis Rey Parish’s parochial school.

Next year’s fair dates are Saturday, July 11th, and Sunday, July 12th, 2015. The fair hours for the public are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. and will once again be held under the trees on the beautiful grounds of the historic Mission San Luis Rey Parish. (Amish Furniture provided by Amish Furniture Direct )

submitting your application. Once your application is submitted successfully please follow the instructions on the next screen to mail in
your payment. Applications received online are kept on file until your payment has been received. If you prefer to download and print your application to mail it in please click here. All applicants should submit a completed application,
attach photographs/pictures of all craft items (which will be kept on file and not returned), and enclose a check for the full application amount. Please also enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for an acceptance notification/confirmation packet. These packets will be mailed to you no later than June 1.     I understand that this application is ONLY for the above named person(s) and items described. If accepted as a fair participant and I find it necessary to withdraw my application, I understand that a refund of half the amount paid will be given at the discretion of the Artisan Committee, upon consideration of the circumstances. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER JUNE 1, 2015. By signing this application, I also certify herein that my items are HANDCRAFTED. I understand that if I am found to be selling imported items or items not within the description of my application or the pictures on file, I will be asked to remove those items immediately. If I do not comply with the directives of the Artisan Committee at any time, I will be required to leave the fair. No refunds will be given in such cases.
